School Enhancements
The City of Stamford continues to make high-impact enhancements across all of its 23 public schools.
School Enhancements—also referred to as capital improvement projects—refer to permanent structural changes or restorations that add value to a school facility, increase its usefulness, or adapt it for new purposes. These projects often involve significant upgrades, such as renovations or structural alterations, and may qualify for state reimbursement grants. These improvements are typically made to existing school buildings to improve safety, functionality, and the overall learning environment.
The City of Stamford’s School Enhancement projects fall into four key pillars:
Resiliency: Solar panels, LED lighting, high efficiency HVAC
Comfort & Wellness: Restroom improvements, heating system updates, accessibility improvements (ADA)
Technology & Infrastructure Strength: Masonry restoration, structural repairs, expanded safety and security systems
Student Life & Athletics: Athletic field improvements, playground surfaces, outdoor seating/classrooms
